An exclusive and invitation-only concert event featuring a unique blend of art and science revealing how music plays an important role in memory and cognitive wellness.
More than a concert…it’s an experience that provides a glimpse into your mind and memory and how music plays an integral role for cognitive longevity.
It will showcase one of Brite’s programs that changes lives for individuals that are beginning to experience memory loss and early onset of cognitive decline.
The evening begins with Champagne and a topflight selection of craft cocktails that will complement a wonderful array of hors d’oeuvres.
SILENT AUCTION
A silent auction will provide guests an opportunity to bid on a selection of premium items.
Award winning cellist Norbert Lewandowski will take the stage with a moving selection of classical and his solo performances from the New World Symphony.
Mr. Lewandoski holds a Master’s degree in performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music and currently resides in Charleston, SC. Mr. Lewandowski is currently a cellist with the Pittsburgh New Music Assemble.
Behind the stage on a large video screen, his performance will be accompanied by an expressive video depicting his actual brain activity while he plays. It’s a unique blend of art and science and will reveal how music plays an important role in memory and cognitive wellness as we age.
Dr. James Becker – Founder & CEO, will serve as the evening’s auctioneer and will present a wonderful array of experiences for guests to bid on and provide a donation to the Brite Wellness Program
The Brite Wellness Program (Brain Training and Exercise) was born out of a collaboration among neurologists, neuropsychologists, and occupational therapists with expertise in dementia.
The Brite Wellness Program headquartered in Pittsburgh, opened on November of 2016 with support from experts at Fundació ACE Barcelona Alzheimer Treatment and Research Center in Spain, the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dessert and after dinner drinks will take center stage as a sweet finish to this one-of-a-kind event. Dr. Becker, Paul McComb – Executive Director and the Brite team will be available to answer any questions about Brite programs and the positive impact they create for a better quality of life.
